Bowdoinhammer - Week of May 13th to the 19th
Hey there stranger.
It’s been a while. Did you miss us?
According to the emails, we picked a rather busy weekend to be gone. The Bowdoinhammer spam folder was full of legitimate emails from readers with changes to events and requests to add new ones. We’re not sure why that happened, but from now on, checking the spam folder is going to be key on our checklist.
A special pro tip to event creators: Not only do Bowdoinhammers want to know about your event, it turns out they also want to know if the event is canceled. It seems as though this information is just as important as letting them know the event existed in the first place.
Don’t panic if your thing cancels. Just email [email protected] and we’ll make sure our hundreds of subscribers know about it. 😉
Highlights for this week:
There’s a lot happening for a Tuesday. Age-Friendly Bowdoinham will be hosting a Senior Summit mid-day at their favorite Fire Station. After that, Nan Cumming will be holding a Knotted Rug Making workshop over at Merrymeeting Arts Center. The day ends with a Select Board Meeting at it’s usual place.
Vendor registration for Open Farm & Studio Day (7/28) is closing this Wednesday. If you’re a vendor that wants to participate, email [email protected] and they’ll take care of ya.
The Loose Ladies Book Group will be discussing “The Women” by Kristin Hannah, on Thursday. Keep your eyes peeled for the book they’ll be discussing in June 👀.
Breaking Bread in Bowdoinham is back on Friday morning. Later on, there’s an opening reception for Tyler Schoen’s art exhibit Good Bones.
Two Bowdoinham institutions are raising money on Saturday. The Bowdoinham Public Library is fund-raising with Dahlia Day. Dahlia tubers will be available for $5 a piece. For the next two Saturdays, the Bowdoinham FREE Gift Shop is having their plant sale fundraiser.
There’s way more info about these and other events down below, so keep scrolling.
We’ve been working on ideas for the launch of the upcoming podcast, and we thing we have the format of it figured out. If you, or someone you know, have interesting stories about Bowdoinham life and wouldn’t mind being interviewed, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “I’ll talk at ya”. 👍️

One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
That’s about all we have this week.
Let’s do this again next Monday.
See you then.
