It's almost turkey time.

Bowdoinhammer - Week of November 13th to the 19th.

Hey Bowdoinhammer,

Wanna be involved in town stuff?

There will be a Public Hearing during the Select Board Meeting on Tuesday. I think Michael Smith said it best in a Facebook post (paraphrased): "If you are interested in a Saturday Town Meeting (where we approve Town Spending), this is the time to express your opinion. Remember, only about 100 people (on average) approve the Town’s spending and attend these meetings."

. . .

The Cover to Cover art exhibit is still going on this month. If you’d like to pop your head in this week, it will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Merrymeeting Arts Center. Expect to see examples of different cover styles, antique book sales and a silent auction of mosaic art pieces to support Bowdoinham Public Library.

Thanksgiving, 1919

Thanksgiving is SOOO close!

Don’t be a turkey, be the reason someone is thankful next week. Bowdoinham Food Pantry needs some frozen turkeys. Drop off is this Wednesday between 10am and 3pm (or you can email [email protected] or call 207-751-7779 to make other arrangements). No time? You can also throw money at them!

Also, don’t miss the Thanksgiving Market and BBQ party at Mailly Waterfront Park on Saturday.

. . .

Send us a Postcard!

The Bowdoinhammer Postcard Project is an ongoing community art project. If you would like to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to

PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008.

Once we get enough of them, we'll have a gallery exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center.

My family told me to stop telling Thanksgiving jokes, but I said I couldn't quit cold turkey.

That’s about it from us this week. Your questions/comments/suggestions are welcome. Feel free to email [email protected].
