Bowdoinhammer - Week of August 14th to the 20th
Beyond my wildest Maine Blueberry dreams.
Hello Fellow Bowdoinhammers,
I love going into the Post Office, opening that little door with my special little key and getting Postcards. I got 2 this week, but I’ll post one at a time in the Newsletter so as not to overwhelm you (scroll all the way down to the bottom to see one).
On August 3rd, the Bowdoinham Rec. Dept. posted an inquiry on Facebook, asking if anybody would be interested in bringing a Tai Chi class to Bowdoinham. If you are as enthusiastic about this idea as I am, PLEASE email [email protected]. There is a FREE informational class being held on Tuesday, September 12th at 35 Republic Ave. in Topsham, if you wanted to check it out.
In other news, MOFGA finally posted their calendar of events for the Common Ground Fair. I know where I’ll see some of you farm enthusiasts the weekend of September 22nd - 24th.
One last thing before we get down to business. The Loose Ladies Book Club meets in the Merrymeeting Hall (sometimes in the Kendall room of the municipal building, but mostly at Merrymeeting Hall), at 1:00pm, every third Thursday of the month. In this Newsletter, you’ll see that they will be discussing The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. As it may be too late for you to grab a copy, read it, and be ready by Thursday, it’s NOT too late for you to join them next month, when they will be discussing Lessons in Chemistry: A Novel by Bonnie Garmus. Oh, and you don’t have to be a Lady to join. The fellas are welcome too.
Without further ado, here are the events happening in Bowdoinham this week. The highlighted events don’t happen just every week, so you should check them out.

The Postcard project is ongoing, so if you want to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008.
Here’s a postcard we got this week..

It says “A stranger in a not so strange land, Bowdoinham, sandwiched between Counterpoint Bread and the Story Dory. Capn Kate, my first mate here beside me across from Pleasant Pond & Fiore, Maggie’s Farm, Bluebell, Scratch and beyond my wildest Maine Blueberry dreams..” - Michael Albert
Hey! That’s they guy I mentioned last week. So cool.
That’s about it for me, Bowdoinhammers. Until next week, I’m wishing you an inbox full of puppy gifs and good news!
Love,
Rodney
