Bowdoinhammer - Week of August 21st to the 27th

Duckies Galore

Good Monday Morning to you Bowdoinhammer,

Celebrate Bowdoinham is (slightly) less than a month away. I don’t know if you know this, but you can pick your KenDucky Derby duckies early at the Town Office. $5 each, or $20 for 5. First place is $400, and the last duck is $100. The proceeds help cover the cost of the whole celebration, and it’s wicked fun.

The Town and Watersong Music have been putting together a really nice concert series at the waterfront every Sunday. This Sunday will be the last one for the year, and it’s sure to be a blast (details below). Last night’s show was really good and the tasty deserts were served up by Bowdoinham Guild of Artisans. I hope they raised a ton of money for Merrymeeting Hall.

Here’s all the stuff going on this week. The highlighted events are one of a kind things that don’t happen every week.

The Postcard project is ongoing, so if you want to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008.

Here’s the other postcard we got last week..

It says: “A Haiku for you… Bowdoinhammer. A tool so needed. Giving us news of stuff to do. Nailing our weekend.” - An anonymous fan.

I just love anonymous fans. Having one makes you think that anyone you meet might be them. Maybe that’s a good way to go through life.

I hope everyone you meet this week is your anonymous fan, Bowdoinhammer.

Love,

Rodney

P.S. We're selling Celebrate Bowdoinham 2023 rubber ducky stickers. You can get one here while supplies (we don’t have that many).
