Bowdoinhammer - Week of August 28th to September 3rd
When the kids are away...
Hi fellow Bowdoinhammer,
I came across this little tear-jerker post on the Bowdoinham Friends and Family Facebook group the other day. I think it represents this community pretty well:
Whoever’s teenage boys just left the Bowdoinham Community School playground.. you’re raising some amazing kids! Not only were they extremely well mannered, but they were so kind to my 4 year old nonverbal son. And as they were leaving they both told us to have a nice day. Thank you for raising your boys right!! It’s not often these days that you see kids that age so respectful and kind, especially to younger kiddos!
Isn’t that just nice? You can hold your head up high because this stuff happens in your town.
Speaking of kids and patience...
School starts up today (28th) for PreK and 1st-9th grade. Everyone else starts tomorrow (29th). Look out for those busses- it’s the law and they sure do appreciate your patience.

Here’s what’s going on in the ‘ham...

We didn’t get any postcards this week, but that’s OK. I believe that eventually, we’ll get exactly the right amount. I’ve heard that you can’t rush perfection.
The Postcard project is ongoing, so if you want to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008.
If you know someone who’s always asking you “What was that thing going on in town? That thing your were telling me about..”, they are the perfect person to forward this email to.
If you’re that person, you can subscribe here.
Stay sassy AND classy!
