Bowdoinhammer - Week of October 2nd to the 8th.
Happy October Bowdoinhammer!
There’s a whole bunch of you that subscribed to this newsletter last week, and I truly appreciate it. Thanks for being here and for being you.
This is the biggest crowd of eyeballs I’ve ever had on something I’ve written (gulp). No pressure.

Here’s a brief rundown of what this newsletter is about for all you newbies:
It’s a list of things that are happening in town for the coming week. I compile this list from Bowdoinhammer.com (which I curate), and it’s up-to-date as of the emailing of the newsletter.
It’s sent out weekly (late late Sunday nights).
If you know someone who would like this newsletter, please forward it to them. The information here is meant to be shared.
The highlighted things are events that don’t happen every week.
I also like to throw in announcements to make it interesting. Like this:
Merrymeeting Arts Center is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator for 2024 to help take MAC to the next level (email [email protected] if that floats your boat). They have a pretty rad newsletter that you can sign up for, since I know you like newsletters.
I’m a little sad to see the Farmers’ Market close for the season this Saturday, but then I tell myself “Rodney, it won’t be gone forever. Don’t cry. We’ll go apple picking soon.” and then I remember that it’s also BULKY WASTE DAY as I dry my tears.
Brace yourself if you’re on the Facebook. With Bowdoinham’s trash collection contractor retiring soon, the whole trash debate is about to flare up again. Get the facts, and tune into the Solid Waste Committee Meetings that usually happen on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6pm (but this month is on Monday, October 16th for some reason). Remember. You don’t have to engage. You can just use Facebook for what it’s truly meant… A dumping ground for lit memes.

Don’t listen to Turkeys, life is pretty good in the ‘Ham. Now I need a sandwich.
Here’s what’s going on this week:

The Bowdoinnhammer Postcard Project is an ongoing community art project. If you would like to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008. Once we get enough of them, we'll have a gallery exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center.
Thanks for lending me your eyeballs, you guys. It means a lot to me.
I appreciate you.
Love
Rodney
