Bowdoinhammer - Week of September 18th to the 24th
Hello there Bowdoinhammer,
I’ve never been a real fan of the Facebook, even though Bowdoinhammer is on it. The biggest problem I have with it is that whenever I see something that interests me, I can never find it later. I know other people in this town have the same problem because I see them asking things like “does anyone know what’s going on this weekend at the waterfront?” or “I thought so-and-so was doing a thing, does anyone know when that is?”. That was the inspiration to make Bowdoinhammer.com in the first place. I wanted something that had all the events in one place.
On the other hand, Facebook isn’t ALL bad. It’s good about providing a place for groups to share info with like-minded folks. Here’s some of my favorites: Pickleball, Food Pantry, Merrymeeting Arts Center, Rowing Club, and of course, the Farmers’ Market. What are your favorite Facebook Groups/Pages?
The Bowdoinnhammer Postcard project is an ongoing community art project. If you would like to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008. Once we get enough of them, we'll have a gallery exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center.
Here’s something I love about Bowdoinham… the Bowdoinham Food Pantry and The Bowdoinham Gift Shop are co-hosting the 3rd Annual Halloween Costume Give Away! If you have any clean costumes, accessories or decorations that you don’t need anymore, bring ‘em on down to the Gift Shop, the Food Pantry, or the Town Office by Saturday, September 30th so they can be distributed to folks who will put them to good use.
So anyway, here’s what’s shakin’ in our one-light town this week:

That’s all the words I have in me. It’ll take about a week for me to find some more. Until then, be goodish.
