Bowdoinhammer - Week of September 25th to October 1st.
Oh man.
Those tax bills came out, didn't they? Judging by some folk’s social media reactions, you'd of thought the town delivered those bills via brick through the front window. One thing that is as inevitable as Death and Taxes, is the complaining about the Taxes. You could even say that it's as American as apple pie (now I want apple pie).

Once all the dust settles, and all the fits have been had, it's important to remember something: nobody's mind was changed by reading a Facebook rant. The only real way to change things is by being involved in your community. Big changes come from making a bunch of little ones, and the best place to start is in our own town.
The Town of Bowdoinham is seeking participants for the following boards and committees: Planning Board, Appeals Board, Solid Waste Committee, Emergency Medical Services Committee and the Town Hall Committee.
Here are some local organizations always looking for volunteers: Bowdoinham Food Pantry, Merrymeeting Arts Center, Bowdoinham Public Library, Bowdoinham Fire and Rescue Department, The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, Friends of Merrymeeting Bay and Age-Friendly Bowdoinham.
You can connect to the community in other ways too: The Loose Ladies Book Club (you don’t have to be a lady), Bowdoinham Pickleball and Bowdoinham Rowing, just to name a few.
The easiest (and frankly, coolest) way you can be part of the community is to send Bowdoinhammer a postcard. ;)
The Bowdoinnhammer Postcard project is an ongoing community art project. If you would like to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008. Once we get enough of them, we'll have a gallery exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center.
Feel free to forward this email to someone who needs to see it.
If this email was forwarded to you, stop being a mooch and get your own subscription (it's FREE).
Here's what’s happening in town this week:
