How many other newsletters can there possibly be in this town?

Bowdoinhammer - Week of October 9th to the 15th.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ day Bowdoinhammer,

It’s good to see you back.

Some of you might be thinking “Rodney, this newsletter is pretty good, but are there any other newsletters in this town?”.

I can’t tell you how I read your mind, but the answer it YES. Here are the ones we subscribe to…

In alphabetical order:

Do you subscribe to any current Bowdoinham newsletters that aren’t on this list? I’d like to know about them if you do.

Bring your kids (0 to 17 year-olds) into the Bowdoinham Country Store between now and October 20th to color a spooky picture. They could win pizza prizes! There’s more info on their Facebook Page.

A few things of note this week:

  • During Tuesday’s Select Board meeting, they will review the reports from the Consulting Firm regarding recycling in Bowdoinham. It’ll be worth tuning in if you’re not at the Open House at The Barn at Hatch Point.

  • Do you have an opinion about land use in town? Maybe you’re curious about town planning and ordinances? If you answered yes, then the Land Use Planning Forum on Wednesday is your jam! They want public input (more info if you keep scrolling).

  • Friday the 13th is a lucky day because you can get a $13 two-topping pizza at the Bowdoinham Country Store. You might also win that piece of art you were bidding on to support Merrymeeting Arts Center (Friday will be the last day you can bid).

  • Once you’ve won your fabulous new piece of art, join MAC at their Gallery on Saturday to pick it up (info down below). They have the best snacks at those things.

  • I know it’s on Thursday NEXT week, but you guys should know about the Ruth Moore Event presented by the Loose Ladies Book Club and the Bowdoinham Public Library (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you next week). Gary Lawless of Gulf of Maine Books will be the speaker. The Library has Ruth Moore's books for loan, so check ‘em out.

Now here’s a list of all the opportunities to interact with other like-minded community folks…

All these fancy shindigs are subject to change or cancel without warning. Sometimes they don’t even tell ME (I know), but it’s current as of the publication of this email. I do keep things pretty current on Bowdoinhammer.com, so if you’re in doubt of something, check that out.

The Bowdoinhammer Postcard Project is an ongoing community art project. If you would like to be involved, make/buy a postcard and put your sentiment/story/poem about Bowdoinham on it and mail it to PO Box 181, Bowdoinham, ME. 04008. Once we get enough of them, we'll have a gallery exhibit at Merrymeeting Arts Center.

Thanks for reading this newsletter! Your support means a lot.

See ya around the ‘ham.

Love,

Rodney
