Bowdoinhammer - Week of August 5th to the 11th.
Hello there, Bowdoinhammer
Here’s some of what's happening this week:
Do people call you Mr. or Ms. Know-it-all? If so, you might want to check out Trivia Night at the Three Robbers on Monday. On second thought, you might want to go anyway. They have really good burgers.
If you have restless legs (or ants in your pants, like my Grandma used to say), you should join George Oliver and other line-dance enthusiasts on Tuesday night.
See what’s going on with the Solid Waste Committee during their meeting on Wednesday night OR you could hang out at the waterfront and catch the Nat Hussey Band that was rescheduled from Sunday.
Age-Friendly Bowdoinham will be holding its monthly luncheon on Thursday.
We missed the opening reception for it because of the last-minute announcement, but if you haven’t yet, you should check out the Lost Homes of Swan Island at Merrymeeting Arts Center on Saturday.
Pretty Girls Sing Soprano will be the musical guest at the waterfront on Sunday (weather permitting). BCDI will be feeding the masses.
Keep scrolling for more information about these and other events.

Merrymeeting Arts Center is having an Auction, and they need submissions from local (really any) artists. The auction will start on Saturday, September 7th, and end on Sunday, September 15th.
The proceeds from each sale will be split 50/50 with the artist, who will set the starting bid.
All are welcome to apply.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 16th.

Summertime is for visitors.
Last week, the Bowdoinham Public Library was able to lure children’s book author/illustrator Chris Van Dusen to the farmers’ market, where he entertained a herd of children.
Next week, the Merrymeeting Arts Center will host modern pop artist Michael Albert for another collage workshop. The last one was pretty awesome.
We are lucky to have a town that is able to attract a dynamic spectrum of talent and a community wonderful enough for the visitors to want to come back.

Love,
Rodney & Tessa
